Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 August 2026
Platerrr ("we", "us", "our") operates a platform that lets food businesses (bakeries, cafes, cloud kitchens and similar shops, each a "Business") run their own online storefront, point-of-sale, and staff management tools. This policy explains what data we collect, how it's used, and the choices you have — whether you're a Business owner using the dashboard or a customer ordering from a Business's storefront.
1. Information we collect
We collect different information depending on how you use Platerrr:
- Business accounts: name, email, phone number, shop details, product catalog, uploaded images, branch and staff information.
- Customers ordering from a storefront: name, phone number (for order OTP verification), delivery address, and order history with that Business.
- Staff: name and a PIN used for attendance clock-in/out, plus attendance timestamps.
- Payment information: when a customer pays online, payment is processed directly by our payment gateway partner (Razorpay). We do not store full card or bank details on our servers.
- Usage data: basic device and log information (IP address, browser type, pages visited) collected automatically for security and reliability.
2. Signing in with Google
Platerrr offers "Continue with Google" as a sign-in option for Business owners and staff on the dashboard and admin apps. When you use it, we request only your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google Account — the standard basic-profile information Google provides to any app you sign in to. We use this solely to create and secure your Platerrr account (so you don't need a separate password) and to show your name/photo inside the dashboard. We do not request or access your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Contacts, Calendar, or any other Google service or data beyond this basic profile.
3. How we use information
We use the information collected to operate the platform: creating and displaying storefronts, processing and tracking orders, verifying phone numbers via OTP, managing staff attendance, generating analytics for Business owners, and communicating important service updates.
4. Third-party services we rely on
Platerrr is built on top of a small number of infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf, strictly to deliver the service:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, and hosting of application data.
- Razorpay — online payment processing.
- 2Factor.in — SMS/voice OTP delivery for phone verification.
- Vercel — hosting for the storefront, dashboard and admin applications.
- Cloudflare — image upload and storage for product photos.
Each of these providers has its own privacy practices governing the data they process on our behalf.
5. Data sharing
We do not sell personal data. Order and customer information entered on a Business's storefront is shared with that Business, since it's necessary for them to fulfil the order. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Platerrr, our users, or the public.
6. Data security
We use industry-standard measures — encrypted connections, access controls, and secure infrastructure providers — to protect data against unauthorized access. No system is completely secure, and we encourage Business owners to use strong passwords and keep staff PINs confidential.
7. Data retention
We retain account and order data for as long as an account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. You can request deletion of your data as described below.
8. Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at the email below. Business owners can manage most of their own data directly from the dashboard (products, staff, storefront settings).
9. Children's privacy
Platerrr is intended for use by business owners and their customers who are able to enter into a legal agreement (generally 18 years or older). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
11. Contact us
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to contact@platerrr.in.
